TeeRico by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Montclair Film, GrassROOTS Community Foundation, the First Congregational Church and Nassan's Place were honored at Vanguard Theater Company's Annual Gala at The Loft in Montclair on November 3, 2018, at 7PM. Honorees and guests celebrated Vanguard's mission of D.R.E.A.M. - Diversity, Reciprocity, Education, Awareness and Mentorship.

On this day in 2011, the Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, finally celebrated its opening night, following the longest preview period in Broadway history.

The new Broadway musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is currently in performances at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street) and officially opens tonight, April 23, 2017. Scroll down to get to know the company before tonight's opening bows!

Broadway is coming to the South Orange Performing Arts center this May! On Monday night, May 1,2017, 25 Broadway artists will light up the SOPAC stage, as they perform with aspiring Broadway artists in Vanguard Theater Company's second annual BROADWAY BUDDY Mentorship Cabaret.

Midtown Direct Rep (MDR) continues its 2016-17 staged reading series, Theater at The Woodland, with a presentation of TORN ASUNDER, written by Obie Award-winner Nikkole Salter and directed by Janeece Freeman Clark. This staged reading will be performed for one night only on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 7pm at The Woodland (60 Woodland Rd. Maplewood, NJ), where MDR is the resident theater company. The reading is $15 (advance purchase), $20 (if purchased at the door) and open to the public. Student/Senior discounts are also available. Beginning performances tonight, November 15, Nathaniel Stampley will assume the role of Mister in John Doyle's Tony Award-winning production of the Broadway musical, The Color Purple.

The Tony Award-winning revival of THE COLOR PURPLE will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Upon closing, the production will have played 449 regular and 33 preview performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W 45th Street). A North American tour of the production will launch in the fall of 2017.

Beginning performances Tuesday, November 15, Nathaniel Stampley will assume the role of Mister in John Doyle's Tony Award-winning production of the Broadway musical, THE COLOR PURPLE. Isaiah Johnson, who originated the role, will give his final performance on Sunday, November 13.

Trent Armand Kendall (host of TRENT ARMAND KENDALL Broadway Download, City World Radio) is host and producer of an outdoor, summer concert series at Pier Village, Long Branch, NJ. Pier Village is the most popular destinations on the Jersey Shore with retail, restaurants, international food trucks, residences and varied, exciting summer programming. This Thursday night, June 2nd, BROADWAY SESSIONS welcomes cast members from the Tony nominated Best Musical Revival, The Color Purple. THE COLOR PURPLE recorded its official Broadway cast album in December, and it is available online and in stores today, February 19, released by Broadway Records. The album is produced by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti.
