Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work.

Tommie Wofford Productions (TWP), IC Theatre Co. (ICTC) and MilkyWay Theatre Co. (MWTC) has announced their partnership by presenting a one-night only event, June 19, 2023 (Juneteenth) at 54 Below in Manhattan, New York.

This month, 54 BELOW will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, is thrilled to be presenting two shows celebrating Black music and history on June 19: Emancipation: A Juneteenth Celebration at 7:00pm and Malcolm X and Selma the Musical: Together in Concert at 9:30pm.

City Springs Theatre Company presents THE COLOR PURPLE Directed by Kamilah Long is based on Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment motion picture. This musical about love plays May 6 - 22, 2022 in the Byers Theatre at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. THE COLOR PURPLE was adapted for the stage by Pulitzer Prize and Tony® Award winner Marsha Norman, with music and lyrics by Grammy® Award winners Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.

City Springs Theatre Company, Atlanta's home for professional musical theatre, presents The Color Purple as part of its 2021-22 PNC Bank Season. Directed by Kamilah Long, this musical about love plays May 6 - 22, 2022 in the Byers Theatre at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center (1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs). Feinstein's/54 Below announced today their September line-up in its streaming series featuring Mean Girls and Clueless star Zurin Villanueva, Jasper in Deadland composer Ryan Scott Oliver, Tony Award® winner Beth Leavel, and My Fair Lady and Oklahoma! star Melissa Errico.

Actor/singer/writer/director Clarke Peters first debuted FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE in the United Kingdom in 1990. Two years later it premiered on Broadway and ran for 445 performances. Over the last several years, FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE has been produced across the United States and the United Kingdom. On May 19, a refreshed version of FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE premiered at the Ebony Repertory Theatre in Los Angeles. I caught up with Peters to talk about the production, Louis Jordan and whether LA will ever become a "theatre city."
