A reimagining is underway of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Matthew Warchus will serve as director for the forthcoming film, which will be written by Enda Walsh.

Fire up those engines! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the classic family musical starring Dick Van Dyke, is being reimagined with a new film. The project is aiming for a theatrical release with Amazon MGM Studios, though dates are unknown at this time.

Further dates have been set for The Vivienne and Charlie Brooks as The Childcatcher in the new production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, currently touring the UK.

Dear Readers, the magical stage musical of the beloved “Mary Poppins”, currently playing at the 5th Avenue Theatre, may not have been referring to live theater as a whole with their song “Anything Can Happen”, but that sentiment certainly applied to why we love live theater. At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend, Broadway performer Darren Criss took the stage during a Richard Sherman tribute panel to perform I Wanna Be Like You from The Jungle Book. The song, written by The Sherman Brothers, was originally performed by Louis Prima in the 1967 animated classic.
