Songs with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein from musical theatre gems were celebrated and sung and discussed at 92NY in a fine Lyrics and Lyricists concert, COCKEYED OPTIMIST concert at The 92nd Street Y, New York. The concert kicked off L&L's 2024-25 season which continues next month with a tribute to activist Nina Simone.

Kelli O’Hara shone on 10/10 with her new show at The 92nd Street Y, New York. HERE'S TO THE LADIES honored Kelli’s connection to a handful of people, mostly women, who left their mark on her life. O'Hara's powerhouse voice was put to good use in this concert, which showed off her comedy chops, operatic range and of course those high highs.

MIRACLE OF MIRACLES, a grand tribute to Sheldon Harnick, closed its trio of concert performances last night. It serves as a radiant reminder of a legendary talent of musical theatre. Sheldon Harnick's lyrics and legacy were warmly presented in the Lyrics & Lyricists series, which he was a major part of in its early years.
