YELLOW SOUND LABEL will release Out Of Context, the debut CD of composer MICHAEL PATRICK WALKER on iTunes, Amazon and other outlets on November 8, 2011. Best known as co-writer and co-creator of the hit musical, Altar Boyz, the award-winning composer/lyricist will have a special one-night only CD release event on Monday, November 7 at 7:00 PM as part of 'Broadway at Birdland,' the weekly concert series at the legendary jazz club.

The NYC Dance Alliance Foundation held its 1st Annual Bright Lights, Shining Stars Gala at the Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at NYU and clearly delivered on its promise of a star studded evening of music & dance with one show-stopping number after another. Following cocktails hosted by Honorary Co-Chairs Cassandra Seidenfeld Lyster and Robin Cofer, eager guests flooded into the elegant theater for an evening of unforgettable moments.

UnsungMusicalsCo. Inc. will present a special exploratory reading of the 1969 musical comedy The Fig Leaves Are Falling as part of The Archival Project, a UMC initiative aimed at researching, assembling and restoring the material from unpublished and out-of-print musical shows. Featuring John Bolton (Curtains, Spamalot), Troy Britton Johnson (The Drowsy Chaperone), Natalie Venetia Belcon (Avenue Q) and Cortney Wolfson (Legally Blonde, The Addams Family), the reading will be held on July 29 at 3pm at Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center, 311 West 43rd Street.

Cause of Coleman's Head Injury Revealed

As BroadwayWorld has reported, Diff'rent Strokes actor Gary Coleman died of a brain hemorrhage on May 28, 2010 at a medical facility in Utah after suffering a head injury. UsWeekly.com is reporting today that Coleman bumped his head after falling from exhaustion. Coleman's friend, Jeremy Spence, tells Us Weekly that Coleman slipped after returning home from a draining routine dialysis session on Wednesday, May 26 (he had gotten them three times weekly due to a dual kidney transplant as a child), causing an inch-long gash on his head. Coleman's wife, Shannon Price, immediately called an ambulence.

According to the New York Times, the show's creative team has made the decision to keep 'Gary' on AVENUE Q. Instead of completely eliminating him, small tweaks will be made throughout the musical. For example, Gary now refers to himself as a 'child star' rather than a 'former child star'.

Gary Coleman, most famous for his portrayal of Arnold Jackson on the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, died of a brain hemorrhage today at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center near his home in Utah. After suffering a head injury at his home on Wednesday, May 26, he was placed on life support, however, his condition deteriorated rapidly.
