For the 3rd consecutive year, Irvington Theater will once again present the Arts Incubator Short Play Fest: a free celebration of short, new, in-development works of theater and the playwrights behind them! This year's fest will exist — for the first time ever — in a hybrid format of online events and in-person readings from March 18-26.

On March 18th, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre celebrated the opening night of Vietnam Project II: Past and Present at the West End Theatre. Continuing their pioneering tradition of presenting bilingual productions, the series offers two productions from Vietnamese-American playwrights: WE ARE written and directed by Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, a bilingual production, performed in Vietnamese and English, incorporating the traditions of Vietnam's rich cultural past, and Monster by Derek Nguyen and directed by Kaipo Schwab, an English language modern day detective drama.

Tisa Chang, Artistic Producing Director announces that Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will launch their 34th season with readings of three new plays by women playwrights representing voices from Vietnam, Chinese America and Hawaii: WE ARE (Oct 16 at 7:00pm) by Nguyen thi Minh Ngoc; FALLING LEAVES (Nov 12 at 7:00pm and 13 at 3:00pm) by Adeline Yen Mah; and AIR AND ANGELS (Dec 2 and 3 at 7:00pm) by Anne Noelani Miyamoto. All readings are open to the public with a suggested $10 donation, and are held at ART/New York spaces, 520 8th Ave, 3rd Floor. Pan Asian Repertory Theatre presents the premiere production of THE SECRET OF O-SONO, a ghost story for family audiences, March 25th - April 5th at the West End Theatre (263 W. 86th Street between Broadway & West End Avenue in the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, 2nd floor). Inspired by the Japanese folk tale 'The Dead Secret,' collected by Lafcadio Hearn, THE SECRET OF O-SONO is a new play by Elsa Okon Rael, directed by Ron Nakahara, with Japanese movement consulting by Sachiyo Ito, and original music by Shigeko Suga. The production is the centerpiece of Pan Asian Rep's NEWWORKS 09, a four-week celebration of new plays, solo pieces and music featuring some of the brightest young talent in the Asian-American community and beyond.
