In part one of the two-part event, titled “Simone,” Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and the LA division of the FBI enlist the help of FBI trainee Simone Clark (Niecy Nash) when one of her former students is suspected of terrorism following an explosion at a local power station. “The Rookie” two-part event begins Sunday, April 24 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.

Niecy Nash (“Reno 9-1-1,” “Claws”) is set to guest star as Simone Clark in two embedded pilot episodes of the ABC police drama “The Rookie” from eOne and ABC Signature. Her episodes set the stage for a potential untitled spinoff next season allowing the franchise to expand beyond the Los Angeles Police Department.

On its final original telecast of the year, ABC's “The Rookie” improved by 9% week to week among Adults 18-49 (1.2/6 vs. 1.1/5) to match its season high and grew for its 2nd straight telecast in Total Viewers (+7% - 7.2 million vs. 6.7 million) to attract its biggest audience since its season premiere—since 9/29/19.

The Paley Center for Media announced today that it will host its 12th annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews September 6-16, 2018, at the Paley Center's Beverly Hills location. New Form Digital announced today the start of production and casting for the original musical series PULSE. Actress and Canadian native Katie Findlay (How to Get Away with Murder, The Killing) has been cast as Hannah Cooper, the main character in the series.
