BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival Announces Summer 2017 Lineup

BRIC, the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, is pleased to announce the lineup and sponsors for the 39th annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, which returns this year with 31 performances, June 7 - August 12. The programming, reflective of Brooklyn's eclecticism and diversity, will feature a wide array of free, world-class performances at the beautiful Prospect Park Bandshell.
PREMIERES' Inner Voices Series Opens Tonight Off-Broadway

PREMIERES, the New York based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' has announced the complete cast and creative teams for this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers. Performances began October 3rd and continue through October 29 at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is tonight, October 13th at 8:00pm.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. is proud to present Abraham.In.Motion, under the artistic leadership of acclaimed choreographer Kyle Abraham, from November 10-15. In the summer of 2014, as Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré passed through New York, he got together with American vocalist Julia Easterlin for an impromptu studio session. Though this was the first time the two had met, in that session something divine happened, transcending what each was capable of on their own. Thus their collaboration was born and an entire album project, Touristes, conceived; to examine their respective musical roots and passions together and transform what they find into something entirely new and unique.

Just added to the line-up are all-female R&B group En Vogue and soul and R&B singer Lalah Hathaway. Also joining the line-up to perform Pharell's 'Happy' are sixty elementary-aged choir students from YOLA at HOLA and YOLA at LACHSA.

Just announced special guests include soul singer Bilal; Prince cover-band Princess, featuring SNL alum Maya Rudolph and singer-songwriter Gretchen Lieberum; and hip-hop group Public Enemy.
