NBC’s “The Thing About Pam” is based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’s conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her. He was later exonerated. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a scheme involving Pam Hupp. The series stars Renée Zellweger, Josh Duhamel, Judy Greer, and more.

The series is based on a true-crime phenomenon, telling the story of the murder of Betty Faria, who was previously the subject of a podcast series from NBC's Dateline.

Twice Olivier Award nominated composer Dana P. Rowe and librettist/lyricist and Broadway performer Scott Logsdon are the writers behind the new show 12 Days Till Christmas. 12 Days is a new musical that affectionately spoofs Hallmark Christmas movies.

ABC's “American Housewife” emerged as Friday's No. 1 show in Adults 18-49 in the L+3 numbers, leapfrogging over Fox's “WWE Friday Night Smackdown” to lead by 1-tenth of a rating point (0.9/5 vs. 0.8/5) after trailing by 1-tenth in L+SD. In fact, “American Housewife” outdelivered “WWE Smackdown” in 3 of their last 4 original head-to-head matchups in Adults 18-49. The ABC sitcom grew week to week by 13% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/5 vs. 0.8/5) and held even with the prior week in Total Viewers (4.3 million).

ABC comedies “American Housewife” and “Bless This Mess” have been given full-season orders, Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment, announced today.

Justin Paul and Glenn Slater are renowned composers: Paul has written for Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman, and Slater for Disney's Tangled and School of Rock on Broadway. Paul and Slater recently joined forces for the first time to write songs for the ABC sitcom American Housewife, which is airing its first musical episode Tuesday, May 21.

“American Housewife” will air two special music-themed episodes this spring. The “American Idol” episode, airing TUESDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), includes special appearances by music industry forces and the superstar judges of ABC's “American Idol,” Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, along with Emmy® Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest. The episode follows Taylor's (Meg Donnelly) dream of becoming a musical superstar. Katie (Katy Mixon) and Greg (Diedrich Bader) are skeptical when Taylor announces she will use her college fund to travel to Los Angeles, audition for “American Idol,” wow the judges and become an overnight sensation; but Taylor's passion is undeniable.
