Just moments before the show left the air, viewers were stunned to hear Seacrest add the words 'For now.'

Last night's two-hour series finale of AMERICAN IDOL ended with a bang, delivering a 9.6/15 in metered market ratings.

Last night on AMERICAN IDOL, the lights were dimmed for a final time and host Ryan Seacrest made one last dream come true, as Trent Harmon, 25, from Amory, MS, was named the 15th and final AMERICAN IDOL in the history-making series finale live from Dolby Theatre.

In an all-new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, AMERICAN IDOL creator Simon Fuller revealed that Thursday night's Finale will not be the last we will see of the long-running singing competition.

CORE Media, the parent company of 19 Entertainment which manages the careers and recordings of the AMERICAN IDOL contestants, has confirmed reports that the AMERICAN IDOL LIVE Tour, which historically features the season's Top 10 finalists, will not take place this year.

Legendary Soul Man Sam Moore will perform at the White House to celebrate the timeless classics of 'Memphis Soul' as part of the Emmy Award-Nominated PBS Music Special IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE Series on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

As part of their In Performance at the White House series, the President and First Lady will invite music legends and contemporary major artists to the White House for a celebration of Memphis Soul music. The program will include performances by Alabama Shakes, William Bell, Steve Cropper, Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, Joshua Ledet, Sam Moore, Charlie Musselwhite, Mavis Staples and Justin Timberlake, with Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMERICAN IDOL Season 11 finalist Colton Dixon's debut album 'Never Gone' has reached No. 1 on both the Christian Digital Songs survey and the Christian/Gospel Digital Songs chart, giving him the top spot in his first week on the charts.

American Idol LIVE! returns to Detroit's Joe Louis Arena to launch the 2012 tour tonight, July 6 at 7 p.m. The hit tour is the first chance to see this season's talented top 10 finalists in concert to include DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt.

Last night, May 29, Katrina Lenk joined the cast of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark in the role of "Arachne". Christina Sajous, who had currently played the role of "Arachne", played her final performance on Sunday, May 27th. Reeve Carney, Patrick Page, and Rebecca Faulkenberry continue in their roles as "Peter Parker/Spider-Man", "Norman Osborn/Green Goblin", and "Mary Jane Watson" respectively. On Monday, May 28, YouTube sensation, chanteuse and high-end vocal coach Miranda Sings made her tenth sold-out concert appearance as part of the Broadway at Birdland series. Seth Rudetsky acted as musical director/pianist, jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein got some brush-up suggestions from 'violimnist' Miranda, and Adam Pascal, currently starring on Broadway in Memphis, subjected himself to the diva's sensitive and pitch-perfect critiques. The 11th season of AMERICAN IDOL came to a sensational conclusion last night as Phillip Phillips was crowned the winner during the live two-hour season finale on FOX. Phillips, 21, from Leesburg, GA, received the most of America's world record-shattering 132 million votes - the highest number in the show's history.
