The World Premiere of The Postman Always Rings Twice by Jon Jory takes the stage at San Jose Stage Company as a part of their 35th Anniversary Season: "Truth & Illusion".  Adapted from the 1934 novel by James M. Cain, this play examines a love affair turned deadly. This crime thriller explores the consequences of attempting to escape fate.

LA's own Impro Theatre continues their residency at The Edye at The Broad Stage, presenting a different style of their signature improvisation for one weekend, each month.

San Jose Stage Company Artistic Director Randall King today announced the Company's 35th season. The Stage's 35th theatrical season is a benchmark of the region's live professional theater King said .a celebration we could not have realized without the tremendous patronage we continually experience. The Stage was founded 35 years ago with the mission of producing new works by emerging and established playwrights that explore the human condition. In celebration of their anniversary The Stage presents five works that contribute thoroughly to that mission. Audiences will be prompted to reflect on the polarity of emotions with each piece bringing its own unique analysis on the dividing lines of the human condition. When does pleasure become pain? FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training is pleased to present the inaugural season of Dog Days Theatre for summer 2017, a new theater project offering smart, contemporary works just light enough for the dog days of summer.

FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training's inaugural season of Dog Days Theatre continues with DOUBLE INDEMNITY, David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright's stage adaptation of James M. Cain's titillating crime novel that inspired the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated film noir of the same name. Dog Days Theatre is a new theater project offering smart, contemporary works just light enough for the dog days of summer, featuring two plays mounted in the Cook Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, using professional actors, directors and designers from the community and around the country along with the talents of the Conservatory's graduate students. Directed by FSU/Asolo Conservatory Director Greg Leaming and Jesse Jou,  DOUBLE INDEMNITY previews August 8 and 9, opens August 10 and runs through August 27.
