Luna Stage premieres THE GROUND ON WHICH WE STAND This Month

Luna Stage will present the World Premiere of THE GROUND ON WHICH WE STAND, a multi-writer, site-specific performance exploring the history and impact of The James Howe House from 1780 to present day. The Howe House is the first property in the Township of Montclair to be owned by an African American and formerly enslaved person, and has been the site of much current controversy.

Michael McVeigh Leads Concurrent Exhibitions At The Scottish Gallery

March sees joint exhibitions in the gallery by Michael McVeigh, who until recently worked in Edinburgh as a street artist, even being known as a cult figure by the city's groups on nights out, who also draws inspiration from his Scottish surroundings.  Alongside McVeigh's work is fellow Scot David Cook who uses his imposed isolation on a remote stretch of coastline to connect with the wild and develop his seaside garden.

'Brick City,' a world premiere play, is now being performed at Premiere Stages on the Kean University campus now through September 23. Written by Nicole Pandolfo and Directed by Jessi D. Hill, it is a thought-provoking and important show. With excellent staging and a top-notch cast, the production captivates.

Lifeline Theatre's KidSeries presents Bunnicula, a family musical based on the popular children's book by Deborah and James Howe, with adaptation and lyrics by Lifeline Theatre emeritus ensemble member James Sie, music by Doug Wood, and directed by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Anthony Kayer. At a showing of Dracula one dark and stormy night, the Monroe family discovers an abandoned rabbit. When they bring him home, resident know-it-all Chester the cat suspects the worst after spying gleaming fangs in the bunny's mouth. And as vegetables start turning up mysteriously drained of their juices, even easygoing Harold the dog wonders if they have a supernatural menace on their hands. Brave the night and dare to embrace our differences in this musical adaptation of the 1979 book by Deborah and James Howe. This production is recommended for children ages five and up (children under two not permitted), and runs approximately one hour with no intermission.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present Nicole Pandolfo's Brick City September 6-23 in Kean University's Bauer Boucher Theatre Center (Vaughn Eames Hall, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J.). Originally commissioned over a two-year cycle through the NJPAC Stage Exchange and now receiving its first professional production, Brick City will feature actors Rafael Benoit, Jacqueline Correa, Madison Ferris and Chris Grant. Jessi D. Hill, who helmed this season's workshop of Deneen Reynold-Knott's Baton, directs.
