Casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of The Shark Is Broken, the behind- the-scenes West End and Broadway hit comedy about the making of the movie Jaws.

Dramatists Play Service, the play imprint of Broadway Licensing Global, has announced the addition of Oh, Mary!, the critically-acclaimed new play by writer-performer, Cole Escola, to its catalog. 

Playhouse on Park will launch its 16th Season this October with the bitingly funny comedy THE SHARK IS BROKEN written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon. Check out the cast here!

Orphaned Mary Lennox, a ten year old English girl born and raised in India, is sent to the moors of Yorkshire, England, to live with a brooding uncle she has never met, on an estate that seems to be locked in the past. There, she finds her personality blossoming among the other residents of the estate as they bring new life to a long-neglected garden.

Jarrott Productions will hold auditions for two plays in its 10th Anniversary 2024-2025 season. Auditions are by appointment on September 20th and 21st, with callbacks on September 22nd.

Broadway Licensing Global has acquired the rights to The Shark is Broken, by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon. The 95 minute, three-person play received a highly praised premiere at the Edinburgh Festival in 2019. It has since gone on to widely celebrated runs on London’s West End and a recently closed run, on Broadway.

On Thursday, November 16, ahead of THE SHARK IS BROKEN’s final weekend on Broadway at the Golden Theatre, Cynthia Nixon (The Gilded Age, And Just Like That…, Sex and the City), stopped by to see the splash-hit! After the show, she met the cast and posed for a photo.

Today, November 19, 2023, Broadway says goodbye to three productions. The Shark Is Broken takes its final bow at the John Golden Theatre following 18 previews and 116 regular performances; Jaja's African Hair Braiding wraps up at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre following  21 previews and 56 regular performances; and Melissa Etheridge: My Window concludes its run at the Circle in the Square Theatre following 8 previews and 44 regular performances.
