At the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) holiday soirees held in Los Angeles, NYC, and Nashville, a Who's Who of the entertainment industry gathered to celebrate together and recognize accomplishments of many of the world's top music creators in films, TV, and other visual media.

The Society of Composers & Lyricists announced Giorgio Moroder will receive the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Jeff Beal to receive SCL Ambassador Awards.

Critically adored singer, songwriter, and producer Amber Mark shares 3 minutes and 40 seconds of soul-healing, electrified disco bliss called “Won’t Cry.” The new single was written, produced, and performed entirely by Mark and is set to appear on her upcoming mini project Loosies. 

After unveiling his plans for his sophomore album, God Said No, Omar Apollo has announced an accompanying tour, which will commence on August 20th in his home state of Indiana. The God Said No Tour will include 29 dates, with stops in New York City, Boston, Toronto, Houston, and more. Later performances will see Apollo grace iconic venues such as the Greek Theatre and Hollywood Bowl, among others.

Omar Apollo has announced that his sophomore studio album, God Said No, will be released on June 28th via Warner Records. Along with the announcement, Apollo offers a preview of what is to come on the album with the new single “Dispose of Me,” which arrives with an accompanying live performance video of the song featuring a 14-piece ensemble. NEA Jazz Master and GRAMMY winning alto and soprano saxophonist Kenny Garrett announced the upcoming release of Who Killed AI?, a new album recorded with acclaimed electronic producer Svoy. As his first electronic album, the record features a radical meshing of Garrett's post-bop composition and performance skills with electronic beats.

Produced by Two Soul Fusion, aka Louie Vega and Josh Milan, the mini-album contains six tracks, all with live string arrangements courtesy of the Apple Hill String Quartet and conducted by Leroy Burgess. The recording dives from the effortless heights of Punk Disco (Let Me Be Your Fantasy, High, Anané's Punk Disco Demo).
