Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced the recipient and six finalists for the inaugural Barbara Whitman Award. Established by theatrical producer Barbara Whitman, the award recognizes a female, trans, or non-binary early-career director who has demonstrated a unique vision in their work with an unrestricted $10,000 cash prize.

Elmwood Playhouse of Nyack NY will be presenting 'Next Fall', written by Geoffrey Nauffts and directed by Larry D. Gabbard. 'Next Fall' is an artful, thoughtful and very moving story about love, religion and other things that you shouldn't discuss in polite company. 'Next Fall' runs September 13th thru October 5th Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm with an additional Thursday performance on October 3rd at 8pm and an additional matinee on Saturday October 5th at 2pm. Tickets are $26 / $23 Seniors and Students.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt (CBS' Life in Pieces, and AMC's Breaking Bad) as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse. The production will play June 26 through Sunday July 21; the press opening is June 30 at 5:00pm.
