Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, is proud to present the World Premiere of Daytona McKane and the Quest for the Golden Mole, a fun adventure story perfect for kids age six and up.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today three musicals to be developed at the 2013 National Music Theater Conference.

Richard Eyre directs the world premiere of Nick Dear's The Dark Earth and the Light Sky at the Almeida Theatre. Running until the 12 January 2013, with press night tonight, 15 November 2012. Designs are by Bob Crowley with lighting by Peter Mumford and sound by John Leonard. The cast is Pip Carter (Edward Thomas), Pandora Colin (Eleanor), Ifan Huw Dafydd (Philip Thomas), Shaun Dooley (Robert Frost), Hattie Morahan (Helen Thomas) and Dan Poole (Bott/Major Lushington). "The Temperamentals" opens tonight, August 29, 2012, with a limited run through September 16 in the Studio Theatre of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) on the campus of HCC.

American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 2012-13 concert season is a banner year for the orchestra, marked by unprecedented opportunities for composers through three initiatives that illustrate ACO's role as a catalyst for the creation of new orchestral music: CoLABoratory: Playing It UNsafe, ACO's groundbreaking composition and performance laboratory; the 22nd annual Underwood New Music Readings, one of the country's most sought-after programs for emerging composers (DiMenna Center, May 30-31, 2013); and the nationwide expansion of the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute Readings in partnership with The Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University and The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music (DiMenna Center, June 1-2, 2013).

As part of its mission "to reestablish and expand Detroit's theatre district," Magenta Giraffe Theatre Company has chosen plays by Michigan natives and current Michigan residents to stage as part of a festival to take place March 31 and April 1, 2012, at the Abreact Performance Space (1301 W. Lafayette, #1301, Detroit, MI 48226). Attendees will see a reading of each play and are encouraged to participate in a workshop-style discussion afterward. Admission is by donation only.

The concert, led by ACO Music Director & Conductor George Manahan, explores uniquely American stories - both in musical content and in the background of the composers - and features works by Aaron Copland, Milton Babbitt, Gabriel Kahane, and Michael Daugherty. (The premiere of Ian Williams' new piece, previously announced as being part of this concert, has been postponed.)

'A Strange and Separate People' by Jon Marans announces casting of The Off Broadway play is presented by Stacy Shane / ManUnderdog Prods., the original producer of Marans' critically acclaimed, award-winning play from a season ago, The Temperamentals, at Theatre Row Studio Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street, beginning July 14th and Opening Tuesday, July 19th. It is directed by Jeff Calhoun. It stars , Jonathan Hammond, Tricia Paoluccio and Noah Weisberg. The set and costume design is by Clint Ramos; with lighting by Ryan O'Gara and sound by Jill BC Du Boff.
