In celebration of two major milestones in the West End next month, Disney's THE LION KING has announced a free, pop-up exhibition at the iconic Battersea Power Station.

Disney Theatrical Group and Broadway Across Canada announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's The Lion King will go on sale to the public on February 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (MST).

Ayad Akhtar’s new play McNeal was filmed by the Library for the Performing Arts, and is now accessible to view at the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive. 

Watch Erin Morley, Rihab Chaieb, Pene Pati, and Luca Salsi sing an excerpt from the Act III quartet in a recent performance.  Reigning Verdi baritone Quinn Kelsey reprises his devastating portrayal of the title court jester, and soprano Nadine Sierra, following her acclaimed performances as Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette last season, sings the role of his daughter, Gilda, as they lead the first of two casts beginning.

Disney’s The Lion King will make its return to  Anchorage at the Atwood Concert Hall during the 25/26 season. Performance dates and times for the Fall 2025 engagement will be announced at a later time.

The new Toronto production of Disney’s The Lion King will extend performances through August 30, 2025. The new block of tickets, for performances from April 29 to August 30, 2025, will go on sale at 10AM on Saturday December 7, 2024.

Donald Holder will join the faculty of David Geffen School of Drama at Yale as Professor in the Practice and will serve as Head of the Lighting Design Concentration at the Geffen School and Lighting Design Advisor at Yale Repertory Theatre.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced further casting, design team and a brand-new title for its reimagined The Pirates of Penzance. This jazz-infused, New Orleans-style Broadway production, now titled Pirates! The Penzance Musical and we've got all the information about the new production.

Disney’s THE LION KING celebrated 25 triumphant years in the West End’s Lyceum Theatre on the afternoon of Sunday, 20 October with a special gala performance attended by the original creatives of the show including Julie Taymor, Lebo M, Richard Hudson, Irene Mecchi, Roger Allers and Donald Holder.
