Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater announces premiere of a new ensemble musical ¡GUARACHA!, based on international hit novel La guaracha del Macho Camacho by Luis Rafael Sánchez. Initially conceived in collaboration with the late Miriam Colón, the work of adaptation and direction is helmed by Rosalba Rolón, whose many musical theater credits as Artistic Director of Pregones/PRTT include audience favorites I Like It Like That and Dancing In My Cockroach Killers. ¡GUARACHA!

In creating the book and lyrics for ¡GUARACHA!, Pregones/PRTT Artistic Director Rosalba Rolón relayed Sanchez's incisive wit and humor through original music by Pregones/PRTT's Musical Director Desmar Guevara, and performances by a Latinx acting ensemble and a live five-piece band.

With a successful Berkeley world premiere under its belt, the new musical Kiss My Aztec! headed to the southern end of California for a late summer run at the famed La Jolla Playhouse.

The SHAKESPEAREAN EXPERIENCE explores the experience of being an immigrant in the US, facing the challenge of the English language, finding place in society, and a sense of belonging.

R.EVOLUCIÓN LATINA is pleased to present TO BE OR NOT TO BE - A SHAKESPEAREAN EXPERIENCE devised under the direction of Luis Salgado in collaboration with the Public Theater's Ian Hersey and SITI Company's Leon Ingulsrud. I Like It Like That is written by David Maldonado & Waddys Jaquez and directed by Waddys Jaquez and now run through the end of January, 2017.
