Bandhouse Gigs, an outfit that assembles top local musicians to honor a variety of artists from Bob Dylan to the Stones, began its life outdoors at the Strathmore, honoring Nils Lofgren. For a big event Saturday with the full title “Strathmore Presents A BandHouse Gigs 20th Anniversary Tribute to DC Legends,” an attempt was made to honor no less than 24 acts over three and a half hours, involving, by one count, 75 different musicians.

Last night, Cage The Elephant, the GRAMMY® Award winning rock band returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the world debut of their song Rainbow. The song will appear on their forthcoming album Neon Pill (May 17, RCA Records). Those were actually my words a few weeks ago when I saw Chris King, owner of Stickyz, post that a Foo Fighters Tribute band would be playing at his venue. Being a huge Foo Fighters fan, I stopped scrolling and checked out this post more closely.
