The Chicago Tribune has named Tim Rater, President and CEO, Paramount Theatre in downtown Aurora, its “2024 Chicagoan of the Year in Theater.”

A question from Archangel Michael to God. The newest production in the BOLD Series at the intimate Copley Theatre in Aurora is An Act of God. Alex Weisman, in his bravura Paramount Copley debut as God, delivers each of the revised Ten Commandments to the audience in a way they do not expect. Sarcasm. Anger. Bitterness. Some narcissim. If you will, this is God on a rant and trying to figure out what is good, bad, right and wrong. His help along the way are the angels Michael (Michael Turrentine in his Paramount debut) and Gabriel (Em Modaff). They are both the comic relief but also play Devil’s advocate. Under the direction of Keira Fromm in her Paramount debut, she has delivered an amazing production which should be seen more than once. The script, by David Javerbaum, was derived from tweets from the Twitter account The Tweet of God. At times, the show feels like a late night talk show where the audience is the guest. The conversation hits on topics such as religious doctrines, morality, our own human frailties, creation, faith, good and evil and other topics. You will laugh. You will groan. You might get angry. You might get sad. You might start to question yourself. You might question God. It’s OK.

Paramount’s 2024-25 BOLD Series will continue with David Javerbaum’s An Act of God. And you better believe, God dishes it all out in this hit comedy, delivering a biblical rewrite for the ages, with added snarky social commentary for our amusement.

The Second City will present The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Sweater, November 21-December 23 at Paramount's Copley Theatre in downtown Aurora.

t tells the story of how he became Peter Pan and provides the backstory of Peter and his forever nemesis Captain Hook. I believe that kids under the age of 13 probably won’t understand the story. The script is geared to adults and has some groan worthy (purposely written) lines. The cast of 16 under the direction of Nate Cohen (Paramount debut) will leave you breathless, laughing and a little teary eyed.

Triple threat actor, dancer and singer Matthew Morrison, well known for his Golden Globe-nominated role as beloved teacher Mr. Schuester on the hit show Glee, will bring his incredible talents to downtown Aurora, Illinois, one-night-only, Saturday, October 12, to perform live on Paramount Theatre's historic stage.

Season three of Paramount's BOLD Series will launch this summer with a new production of Peter and the Starcatcher, running July 24 through September 1.

Downtown Aurora, Illinois is gonna be “All Shook Up” this summer, as tickets to a new live, immersive staging of Million Dollar Quartet, the debut production in Paramount Theatre’s new Stolp Island Theatre, are flying off the shelf.

Chicago's Paramount Aurora Theatre will stage the metropolis' premiere of Disney's Frozen the Musical as the 2024 holiday season show. The city, which has previously the touring production, will be one of the first to see a production staged by a local theatre company.
