What do you get when you combine two Canadian music legends into one guitar-heavy, power-pop unit that strives to sound like Minneapolis in the 90's? You get SLIP~ons! They come by their brand of rock honestly, with Brock Pytel of The Doughboys on guitar and Brian Minato of Sarah McLachlan on bass. Add to the mix Rob 'Shockk' Matharu of The Spitfires on guitar, and Shane Wilson on drums and you've got a rock 'n' roll quartet with a vibe not unlike The Lemonheads, Hüsker Dü, Ash, The Replacements or Dinosaur Jr.

Brock Pytel, best known as the singing drummer for late 80's Montreal pop-punks The Doughboys, has just released his new solo single, Anemic Heart. The single is the follow-up to his 2022 single, Hurrah Hooray.

BAPHTA presents GAYS GIVE BACK, January 24. The auteurs behind BAPHTA (not to be confused with the British Academy of Film and Television and Art) have rounded up some of New York's most celebrated gays for a one-night only mutual aid benefit show.

The Green Room 42 has announced its November line-up for in-person cabaret performances. The lineup will feature James Jackson, Jr., Jon-Michael Reese, Natalie Joy Johnson, and more.

For the 2nd year, Chelsea Music Hall joins the New York Comedy Festival as an official venue hosting 13 shows with over 50 comedians taking the venue's stage, including Janeane Garofalo, Larry Owens, Ian Lara, Seth Herzog, Alex English, Josh Adam Meyers and Sam Morrison between November 7th and 13th, 2022.

Canadian indie-rock royalty Sloan have released the third single, “Magical Thinking,” off their upcoming 13th studio album Steady. “Magical Thinking” is released with an official lyric video and follows the two previously released songs, “Spend The Day” and “Scratch The Surface.” Listen to the new single now!

Ars Nova has announced the lineup for its 14th Annual ANT Fest featuring 15 shows, 13 of which will premiere in-person and online at Ars Nova Supra with the first two shows premiering exclusively online.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center has announced that it will present the 21st Monte Cristo Award to its Founder George C. White.   George’s career includes not only his 37 years as President of the O’Neill and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, but also numerous activities and accomplishments in theater throughout the world.

Disney+ has shared the trailer for “Torn,” from director Max Lowe and producer Chris Murphy, along with Lightbox’s award-winning producers Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn.
