The movie Elf is one of those films that sticks with you throughout your life; you remember the spaghetti, the syrup, and the unrivaled holiday cheer from the unique story. It’s only natural that a story full of this much nostalgia takes on a new life that honors its legacy. Enter Elf: The Musical. All of the magic of the original movie is packed into a stage show with dancing Santas, larger-than-life Christmas trees, and onstage skating that makes you want to join the fun. Seattle has been gifted its very own production this holiday season at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Elf: The Musical, directed and choreographed by Denis Jones, is now running downtown.

The 5th Avenue Theatre will present ELF – The Musical November 28–December 28, 2025, directed and choreographed by Denis Jones. Starring Eric Ankrim as Buddy. Tickets are available now.

Patsy Cline was a generational talent, her voice timeless, her stage presence commanding, and her story unforgettable. Always... Patsy Cline brings that story to life, delving into touching moments from the country music legend's tragically brief life. Taproot Theatre handles this narrative with utmost delicacy and reverence. Wonderfully directed by Karen Lund, the production runs through June 14.

For Musical Theatre West's new, winning large-scale production—now on stage at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach through April 13, 2025—director Kari Hayter and a company of terrific performers have revived the musical in an expected, true-to-the-classic staging, bursting with the color and aura of a storybook fairy tale come-to-life. While, sure, nothing necessarily new is presented in MTW's vibe, this lively, genuinely spirited presentation reminds old and new fans exactly why the show—for many theatergoers—continues to be a beloved show decades after it first conjured itself on stage.

On Wednesday at the Green Room 42, writer and composer Christopher DeLair was joined by Maria Wirries, Diana Huey, George Dvorsky, Vishal Vaidya, Julie Reiber, Cayman Ilika, Stavros Koumbaros, Alexa Greene, Sabrina Shah, Elaine Romanelli, Rachel Stern, Taylor Pardell, Chrissy Pardo and musicians f Chris Ranney (piano), Adam Wolfe (drums), Alan Stevens Hewitt (bass), Kiwon Nahm (violin) for DeLair's NYC club debut, a show titled Life in the Air: The Music of Christopher DeLair. The next month promises to be one of the busiest and most exciting in writer and composer Christopher DeLair’s career. On Wednesday, September 11th he makes his New York City club debut at The Green Room 42.

Stories include the opening of nominations for the 2024 BroadwayWorld Regional Awards and the donation from Ken Ludwig to save Hall’s Croft. Financial difficulties are impacting institutions like the University of the Arts and Seattle’s theater scene, prompting a rethinking of models and operations.

Christopher DeLair's NYC club debut at The Green Room 42 features Life In The Air, an evening of original theatrical and contemporary pop music with nearly a dozen musicians.
