The Broadway-aimed musical Americano!, inspired by the life of DREAMer and political strategist Tony Valdovinos, will premiere at Phoenix, Arizona's The Phoenix Theatre Company, January 29 - February 23. Opening night is January 31. Americano! is presented by The Phoenix Theatre Company and Quixote Productions (Jason Rose, producer), Tony Award-winning producer Ken Davenport (Altar Boyz, Godspell, Kinky Boots and Once on This Island) is the executive producer.

Americano! - a groundbreaking, true-story musical on the life of a Dreamer debuting in Phoenix in January- has launched new billboards in New York's Times Square.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on Tuesday (November 12) on the future of DACA (the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and President Donald Trump's bid to end the immigration program. Tony Valdovinos will be watching those arguments and how the Supreme Court rules on DACA. Valdovinos is a DREAMer. His parents brought him to the U.S. from Mexico when he was 2 years old. Tony did not know that until his 18th birthday when he tried to fulfill his dream of serving his country by joining the U.S. Marines.

He walked into a Marine Corps recruiting station in Phoenix on his 18th birthday to enlist, only to discover his parents hadn't told him that he was an undocumented immigrant. But this DREAMer didn't give up on serving the only country he had ever knowna?"he did it in other powerful ways instead.

Austin-based, Latin pop songstress Gina Chavez is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of her EP 'Lightbeam' on Today, Sept. 14. The official EP release party will take place at the Seventh Annual Niñas Arriba Benefit Concert on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Antone's located at 305 E. Fifth St, Austin, Texas 78701. The concert will also feature performances by local powerhouses Carrie Rodriguez and Jane Ellen Bryantand will benefit Niñas Arriba, a college fund that Chavez co-founded for young Latinas in a gang-dominated suburb of San Salvador, El Salvador. This year's concert will also celebrate Niñas Arriba's first four college graduates with 100 percent of the proceeds supporting the program. Doors are at 7 p.m. General admission tickets to the show are $17 and VIP tickets are $50. The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents Ruthie Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Carrie Rodriguez, the Lone Star State's diverse and celebrated songwriters, on November 8 at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Performing as part of of the Texas Troubadours project, these three distinctive voices come together for the first time to swap songs and collaborate.

Lola, the latest release from acclaimed Austin-based artist Carrie Rodriguez is out now via Luz/Thirty Tigers. Inspired by 1940s-era recordings of her San Antonio-born great aunt Eva Garza, the bilingual album presents a collection of ranchera-inspired originals by Rodriguez in English, Spanish and 'Spanglish,' coupled with Spanish songs written by some of her favorite Mexican composers.
