BROADWAY SINGS STEVIE WONDER is an amazing tribute to classic Stevie Wonder songs done in new styles by talented Broadway stars, backed by an incredible band.

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) continues its 2017-2018 season with the Thousand Oaks premiere of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell (based on the Victor Hugo Novel and songs from the Disney film), musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Michelle Elkin and directed by Misti B. Wills. THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME opens on Friday, April 20, 2017 and runs through Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.  

On May 16-18, The New York Foundling and Mott Haven Academy will present the newly revised production of Unstoppable the Musical, performed by the students of Haven Kids Rock at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. This year's production is led by Broadway producer Dan Stone (Dear Evan Hansen, Beautiful, The Carol King Musical and the forthcoming production, The Prom), who has taken a lead role in preparing the kids for three nights of performances this May with 820 tickets available for purchase.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday night, April 12th, Broadway Sessions offers up it's one monthly open mic party featuring special guest vocalists.

The song-writing partnership of Carole King and Gerry Goffin was such a formidable force in the sixties that even Lennon and McCartney often spoke about wanting to emulate them. It's with this partnership then, that Beautiful: The Carol King Musical spends most of it's time.

In 2014 the musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder won 4 Tony awards of which one was for the best musical. It won in contest with musicals like Aladdin and Beautiful - the Carol King Musical. As I seen both of them and really liked them. I had quite high expectations on 'Gentlemannen' as it is called in Swedish when I saw the dress rehearsal the 24th of January at Oscars Theatre in Stockholm.

I think we all felt the earth move a little bit at Clowes Hall this week. Beautiful, the musical of Carol King's life, is on stage now. The singer/composer famous for hits like 'It's Too Late' and 'You've Got a Friend' had a incredible career and the musical chronicles her rise to stardom in the 1960s.
