54 Below will present “Now That’s What I Call Broadway!” Bringing you everyone’s favorite hits from Tony Award®-winning shows of the past 30 years performed by Broadway veterans and Manhattan’s rising stars.

In an all new panel discussion, cast and creative team members talked about Next to Normal, which is now in production at Barrington Stage. The panel delves into the themes of mental health and family dynamics presented in Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt’s musical. Check out the video here!

The cast for the upcoming production of THE LION KING at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco has been announced, featuring a mix of new and returning performers.

We spoke to Natalie Joy Johnson, most recently seen on Broadway in Lempicka about starring in Barrington Stage's Next to Normal, directed by  Artistic Director Alan Paul, in a co-production with Round House Theatre in Washington, DC. 

Broadwest Productions in association with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra will present the world premiere of Quasimodo – The Musical in Concert, a new and spectacular re-imagination of Victor Hugo’s classic hunchback story.

A theatrical experience that, while honestly not for everyone, had the opening night crowd literally leaping to it's collective feet with more than just myself shouting BRAVO! I encourage those brave, perhaps “healed”, open minded, individuals to experience this outstanding production of NEXT TO NORMAL

What did our critic think of Illinoise at Park Avenue Armory? Illinoise is, at its core, a story about stories, both the ones we tell ourselves and the ones we’re brave enough to share with others. 

The painful slow journey for understanding as to what normalcy or perceived sanity is --when a family member is suffering from bipolar illness--- is explored with heartbreaking poignancy, almost brutal honesty and with deadpan caustic humor in the musical Next to Normal. Now playing at Bethesda’s Round House Theatre, this almost totally sung-through musical caught me up in its oddly satisfying emotional pulse. I fell into its compelling pull as the trauma of a family experiencing the highs and lows of bipolar illness unfolded.
