Broadway stars Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope are both set to star in The Beauty, a new series from creators Evan Peters and Ryan Murphy. In addition to his work as a co-creator, Peters will star in the series, alongside Ramos, Pope, and Ashton Kutcher. The stars will executive produce as well.

As BroadwayWorld first reported in September, The Heart of Rock and Roll is coming to Broadway! Producers Hunter Arnold, Tyler Mitchell and Kayla Greenspan announced that the new musical inspired by the iconic songs of Huey Lewis and The News, will open on Broadway at The James Earl Jones Theatre.

Novak (The Office), is a darkly comic thriller about Ben Manalowitz, a journalist and podcaster who investigates the death of a girl he was hooking up with. The film’s ensemble cast includes Issa Rae, Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook, J. Smith-Cameron and Dove Cameron. 

Jesse L. Martin is known for his Tony-winning role as Tom Collins on Broadway in Rent. He reprised his role in the 2005 feature film adaptation. Martin also starred on NBC's Law & Order for nine seasons. He just completed his eight-year run on The Flash, where he played detective Joe West, and recently wrapped filming NBC’s pilot Irrational.

Legendary 11-time Grammy Award-winning, two-time Academy Award nominated singer-songwriter Dolly Parton (9 to 5) is set to star in Hello Sunshine’s film adaptation of Run, Rose, Run, the recently released novel written by Parton and James Patterson. Parton and Patterson will produce the feature alongside Reese Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine.

Niecy Nash (“Reno 9-1-1,” “Claws”) is set to guest star as Simone Clark in two embedded pilot episodes of the ABC police drama “The Rookie” from eOne and ABC Signature. Her episodes set the stage for a potential untitled spinoff next season allowing the franchise to expand beyond the Los Angeles Police Department.
