BIO
Zach Grenier is a versatile actor with an impressive career in both stage and screen. Born on February 12, 1954, in Englewood, New Jersey, Grenier developed an early passion for the arts and went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City.
Grenier made his Broadway debut in 1985 in the play "A Few Good Men," written by Aaron Sorkin. He played the role of Lt. Jack Ross, a character that was later portrayed by Kevin Pollak in the film adaptation. Grenier's performance was praised by critics, and he went on to receive a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
In 1990, Grenier returned to Broadway to star in "The Iceman Cometh," a play by Eugene O'Neill. He played the role of Willie Oban, a former journalist who has given up on life and spends his days drinking in a bar. The production was directed by Howard Davies and starred Kevin Spacey in the lead role. Grenier's performance was once again well-received, and he earned a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play.
Grenier's other Broadway credits include "Mastergate" (1989), "A Question of Mercy" (1998), "33 Variations" (2009), and "Dead Accounts" (2012). In "33 Variations," Grenier played the role of Anton Schindler, a friend and biographer of Ludwig van Beethoven. The play was written and directed by Moisés Kaufman and starred Jane Fonda in the lead role.
In addition to his stage work, Grenier has also appeared in numerous films and television shows. He is perhaps best known for his role as David Lee, a lawyer at the law firm Lockhart/Gardner, in the CBS drama series "The Good Wife." Grenier appeared in 44 episodes of the show between 2010 and 2016, and his performance earned him critical acclaim.
Grenier's other notable television credits include "Deadwood," "24," "Law & Order," "Boardwalk Empire," and "The Blacklist." He has also appeared in films such as "Fight Club," "Tommy Boy," "Donnie Brasco," and "Twister."
In addition to his work in acting, Grenier is also a talented writer and director. He wrote and directed the short film "Pas de deux" in 2000, which won several awards at film festivals. He has also directed episodes of the television shows "The Good Wife" and "The Blacklist."
