NEOMFA Playwrights Festival Opens 2/11 at convergence-continuum
convergence-continuum presents four world-premiere plays by local graduate-student playwrights at the 2016 NEOMFA Playwrights Festival. The Festival features two full-length (two-act) plays by final-year MFA candidates Logan Smith and Lisa Langford, and two short one-act plays by second-year grad students Jaclyn Cifranic and Samuel Amazing. These plays are part of a three-year intensive program of study under playwright and Cleveland State University professor Mike Geither, and are co-produced by convergence-continuum and the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) in Creative Writing consortium. This will be the fifth year convergence-continuum has mounted the Festival at its performance space, the Liminis, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood.

SWIMMING IN THE SHALLOWS to Open 5/2 at convergence-continuum
convergence-continuum continues its 2014 Season with the Cleveland premiere of Swimming in the Shallows a comedy by Adam Bock. Barb finds out that Buddhist monks in Thailand only own eight things and wonders if that is all she wants. She starts giving away her things, but her husband Bob keeps buying her new ones. Donna wants Carla Carla to marry her, but Carla Carla doesn't like that Donna smokes. Nick falls in love with a shark at the aquarium. They go on a date to the beach, and Nick tries not to sleep with the shark too fast. Plus dream sequences. Plus a wedding.

convergence-continuum continues its 2013 Season, Ruled by Passion, with a quirky romantic comedy: the Ohio premiere of Based on a Totally True Story by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. (Mr. Aguirre-Sacasa is also the author of Say You Love Satan, which received a popular convergence-continuum production in 2010.)

There has been the tale of an illiterate flower girl who was transformed into a proper woman (MY FAIR LADY), a Biblical Jewish youth who became a leader in Egypt (JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT), a prince who kept searching for his corner of the sky until he realized that it was right where he was (PIPPIN), and a big nosed sassy New York girl who transformed herself into a famous vaudeville star (FUNNY GIRL).
