BIO

Yunhye Park is a playwright/lyricist/dramaturg who was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and resides in New York City. Her original musical Tomorrow, by the Sea received the 2024 Kennedy Center Musical Theatre Award, second place for the 2024 Paul Stephen Lim Playwriting Award, 2024 Pipeline Arts Organization Award, the 2024 Chay Yew Seed Grants for Immigrant Artists, was a finalist for the 2023 Live & in Color Musical Theatre Development Program, and semi-finalist for 2023/24 AMTP. She also won the Arts Council Korea Script Contest for Submissions in 2019 and 2024, received the 21st New Play Festival Prize, and Glocal Musical Live Fellowship in Korea.
She has written numerous works for the stage, including Woyzeck in the Dark, Blue-gray Night, and La Resistenza. Her works have been developed at Arts Council Korea, Korea Creative Content Agency, CJ Cultural Foundation, and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. She holds a BA in Theatre Studies and a MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Korea National University of Arts and an MFA in the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program from NYU Tisch.
