Xena Gusthart

Xena started off as a dancer for artists including Florence and the Machine, Kelly Rowland, Rita Ora, Kylie Minogue and Pharell Williams. She also did some West End musical stints including 2 years in Bodyguard The Musical. Afterwards she then toured the world from Beijing to Barcelona, and it was during this time, her choreography also started to flourish.

The last 2 years have been a whirlwind of motorbikes leather and Meat Loaf, as she’s been involved with Bat Out Of Hell in the UK as Resident When last on Broadway Xena was one of a team of three who cast and mounted the USA Tour of Bat Out Of Hell. She has now entirely re-worked the choreography for the new Broadway version currently running at the New York City Centre Theatre until September 15th.

Early works choreographed by Xena included television commercials and live events including Adidas, Nike, FootLocker, Clinique, Renault Clio. Her style is influenced by her musical theatre back ground and her hip hop work at the Barbican Theatre London in the show The Five and The Prophecy of Prana. This really ignited her fire for choreographing professionally.

She’s a long time part of the international hip hop scene being trained by Janet Jackson’s Choreographer Anthony Thomas. She was a hip hop judge at the Concept Battle in France, competed in Wake Up Battle in London and Juste De Bout competition in Norway.

She won the Entrepreneurial Award, chosen and presented to her by Sir Paul McCartney specifically for her work bringing dance to under privileged communities. This was awarded to her for being so intrinsic to the dance scene at a community level in the UK.

Ongoing projects will be taking her between the States and the UK choreographing for a new musical film �Rumpy Pumpy’, as well as two new new musicals �Run Baby Run’, and �Loch Ness.’ Xena will be choreographing the revival of �The Lightening Thief’ in its UK Tour later this year as well as developing works for the Gatehouse Theatre and Barnes Theatre in London.

She has recently taught at Broadway Dance Centre in New York and is a regular guest teacher for professionals at LIPA and London Studio Centre.
