Hi there! I’m Xandra Schultz (she/her/hers), a performing artist based in Brooklyn, NY. My passion for musical theater films, pulp sci-fi magazines, existentialist novels, classic rock, and TV shows like Succession, Severance, and The Twilight Zone inspire my creativity and artistry. Whether I’m acting in a Shakespearean drama, writing and directing an autobiographical play, or singing and dancing in a pop musical, I bring that imaginative energy into every project I take part in.
Recent performances include Girls Night! The Musical, ‘Twas a Girls Night Before Christmas, Voyeur: The Windows of Toulouse-Lautrec (a pandemic-friendly walking tour in the fall of 2020), three TYA national tours, DEcoded at FringeNYC, Warner Brothers' The Polar Express, Waldameer Theme Park, multiple staged readings and cabarets, and concerts with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Alex Newell.
Aside from acting, I’m also a writer and director and have written, directed, and produced two original short plays: Kurt Vonnegut Saves America, which premiered at New York Theater Festival’s Winterfest in October 2021 and Clinical, which premiered at TheaterLab in October 2016.
I am a committed advocate for disability justice and radical inclusivity in the arts - I believe all art is meant for anyone and should be accessible to everyone. I have previously been a Supporting Artist with CO/LAB Theater Group as well as a Programming Coordinator with Family Programming at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. I currently work as a job coach for high school students with disabilities at Lincoln Center, specifically teaching skills related to the performing arts.
