BIO

Known for creating works that combine comedy, interactive film, circus and stage illusion in a blend that draws cross-generational and cross-cultural audiences, Wolfe Bowart has been invited to perform his productions at venues and festivals in 22 countries. He is the writer, director and performer of LaLaLuna, Letter's End, The Man the Sea Saw, Cloud Soup and One Twig at a Time. LaLaLuna debuted to critical acclaim at Australia’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has toured to over 150 venues globally including the Brighton International Arts Festival in the UK, the Festival Internacional de Teatro in Brazil and the Bahrain Summer Festival. Bowart’s UK debuts of LaLaLuna and Letter’s End took place at London’s Southbank Centre as part of the London International Mime Festival, the leading showcase for groundbreaking visual theater. His national tour of France with Letter’s End included a season at the Festival Effervescence alongside works by Philippe Genty, Daniele Finzi Pasca and James Thiérrée. In Australia, Letter’s End and The Man the Sea Saw have received Helpmann Award nominations in the categories of Best National Touring Production and Best Physical/Visual Theatre Production. As a director and artist-in-residence, Bowart has brought physical theatre to people of all ages in conjunction with the Los Angeles Music Centre, Wolf Trap, the Ahmanson Theatre, the Playwrights Project, the Virginia Avenue Project, the Mark Taper Forum, the University of Arizona and Australia’s National Institute of Circus Arts.

Stage and Screen Meld In FROM THE FISHBOWL From TFTV and Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre

In a first-time collaboration, The University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television (TFTV) is partnering with the Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre to present From the Fishbowl, a new fantastical work devised in collaboration with Theatre Studies and Design & Technology students and directed by illusionist and physical theatre creator Wolfe Bowart.
One Day Only Encore Performances Of CLOUD SOUP Announced

Due to popular demand, on Sunday April 28 the Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre will present two encore performances of CLOUD SOUP by acclaimed physical theatre artist Wolfe Bowart. The theatre's Artistic Director Bryan Falcon invited Bowart to return to the Scoundrel & Scamp's mainstage following his sold-out season in January. Cloud Soup became the first production in the theatre's short history to sell out. Bowart will perform the additional shows in Tucson before premiering Cloud Soup in Australia later in the Summer. Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre Presents EVERY BRILLIANT THING

In February The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre presents Every Brilliant Thing, Duncan MacMillan's one-character play described by The Guardian as "one of the funniest plays you'll see about depression." Claire Marie Mannle inhabits the role - rarely performed by a female protagonist - of a young person determined to list every brilliant thing about life in an attempt to ward off her mother's suicidal tendencies. The play, performed in the round on the Scoundrel & Scamp's mainstage, is directed by Michelle Milne. The season runs February 7-24, 2019.
