Emma L. Bowen Center Announces 2018 Humanitarian Award Recipients
The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center, one of Harlem's leading community-based organizations dedicated to providing supportive behavioral health services to clients throughout the five boroughs, today announced the recipients of the 2018 Humanitarian Awards and Community Leadership Award. The recipients will be honored at a special reception, to be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. PepsiCo and la Fleur de Harlem will serve as sponsors of the event.

On Friday, February 26, City Players enjoyed a spectacular opening night of the World Premiere drama UTOPIA written by and starring David Douglas and Martin Head, directed by Katherine Whitney. Opening night festivities were attended by Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and members of the Royal Palms Recovery Center who provided rehearsal space for the production.The SOLD OUT audience awarded the production with a well-deserved standing ovation.

City Players is proud to present the World Premiere of 'UTOPIA' by David Douglas and Martin Head on February 26, 27, March 3, 4, 5 at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 28 at 2pm at the Bootleg Theater, located at 2220 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90057. The production is directed by Katherine Whitney.
Kentwood Players 2009-2010 Season Marcom Masque Awards Announced
Kentwood Players, founded by the late Arky and Jan Marcom, Elizabeth Thornberg and Betty Francis, in December 1949, performs out of the Westchester Playhouse, located near LAX. The company actually got its start, and its name, as members of the Kentwood Elementary School PTA in Westchester, motivated by a school play they performed there, decided to keep a good thing going.
