When Detective Morris discovers a?oeThe Hideaway,a?? a secret realm within The Nether offering its visitors a disturbing brand of entertainment, she launches an investigation into the complex morality of the digital world. Winner of the 2012 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and nominated for the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Play, The Nether will run in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre starting January 15.
BWW Review: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at ACT Of Connecticut
On Saturday, October 5, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another stellar performance at the ACT of Connecticut, in Ridgefield, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Having never seen this show or the movie before, I was not familiar with the story, and had no idea how intense the horror side of this show would be, as I was under the impression that comedy was the primary genre. This musical, with music by Alan Menken, captured the attention of the entire audience, generating laughs from the comedic moments, impressing us with the powerful singing, and shocking with the horror, all of which was brilliantly performed by this first-rate cast, under the brilliant direction and choreography of Jason A. Sparks.

DESPERATE MEASURES Announces Closing Later this Month
On Sunday, the Drama Desk Award-winning musical Desperate Measures announced that it would be wrapping up it's Off-Broadway transfer run at New World Stages later this month on Sunday, Oct. 28. In an Instagram post, one of the show's stars, Lauren Molina, confirmed the sad news, but encouraged fans to come and see this fun, original show before it closes in two weeks.Â

Incoming Cast Member Shavey Brown to Make History in THE FANTASTICKS Off-Broadway
Actor Shavey Brown will be making his Off Broadway debut when he joins the cast of the long running musical THE FANTASTICKS on Monday March 28 - and making theatrical history, as he will be the second African American - and the first since 1977 - to step into the role of El Gallo since the production began performing 56 years ago, say the shows producers, Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.
