Babs is back! It has been announced that Emmy, Grammy, Oscar® and Tony Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, writer, and director, Barbra Streisand has recorded a brand-new song “Love Will Survive,” which will be the end title of the upcoming Peacock and Sky Original series, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. This will be Streisand’s first ever recording for a TV series and will be released globally by Columbia Records on April 25th, ahead of the series global launch on May 2nd.

Terence Blanchard Honored as a BMI Icon
Last night, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) held its35th annual Film, TV & Visual Media Awards to celebrate the top performing composers in film, TV and visual media of the past year. The highest honors of the evening went to film composer and multiple award-winning jazz musician Terence Blanchard, who was named a BMI Icon in recognition of his significant contributions to the cinematic community, and William Ross, who received BMI's Classic Contribution Award for his outstanding work as an arranger, orchestrator, conductor, music director, composer and mentor to emerging talent. The private ceremony was hosted by Vice President Creative – Film, TV & Visual Media, Doreen Ringer-Ross and BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neillat the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Angel Velez, Conductor and Education Through Music-Los Angeles Associate Board member, presents Silent Films Live 2. Sponsored by BMI, this star-studded event brings together highly-acclaimed film, television, and visual media composers to reimagine and create new scores for classic silent films. Adding to the silent film era theme, the event will take place at Bandrika Studios, a space custom-built to showcase Hollywood's original 1,500 pipe Wurlitzer organ. The pipe organ dates back to 1928 when it resided on the Fox lot and was used in classic scores including Journey to the Center of the Earth and Patton.
