Anthony Roth Costanzo to Be Honored at New-York Historical Society's Annual History Makers Gala
The New-York Historical Society will present the 2022 History Makers Award to opera superstar, arts innovator, and civic leader Anthony Roth Costanzo for his achievements in the performing arts and for his activism. The gala will take place on October 6, 2022, at New-York Historical’s Central Park West home. Pam Schafler, chair emerita of New-York Historical’s Board of Trustees, will be honored with the 1804 Founders Medal for Distinguished Service. Renowned historian and Pulitzer prize-winning author Jon Meacham will deliver the keynote address.

The Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University auctioned off through Christie's Auction House a portion of its collection of centuries old wines and spirits, raising funds to provide handicap access to the museum. The entire collection, discovered during a 2016 museum renovation, includes over 40 demijohns (wicker covered 5-gallon bottles) and 6 cases of Madeira dating back to 1796, and over 300 bottles of various spirits from the 1800s - all collected by the Kean family over their 185-year residence at Liberty Hall. The remainder of the collection will be used to establish a permanent exhibition entitled 'History in a Bottle: the Kean Collection of Historic Wines & Spirits', opening in Spring 2019.

Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University Announces Holiday Programming
Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University, the historic former residence of New Jersey's first elected governor, William Livingston, is in full holiday swing. Its Christmas tour, A Wartime Christmas, is quickly becoming a favorite among visitors. Five different rooms of the museum has been transformed to allow guests to experience Christmas as it was on the homefront during the American Revolution (1776), the War of 1812, the Civil War (1862), World War I (1917) and World War II (1942). Visitors will see how Christmas decorating has changed over time and how wartime affects the holiday season.
