The panellists and cast have been announced for the New Nordics Festival at Jacksons Lane, which brings together five days of the best new plays from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, as well as free talks and workshops with Nordic industry professionals.
The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

Marking the first time in seven years that Theatre503 have programmed a play in translation, 2019 will kick off with the English-language premiere of the multi-award winning Cuzco which explores intimacy in a globalised world. A revelation about the clash of colonial histories and commercialised contemporary tourism, Cuzco is written by Victor Sanchez Rodriguez, winner of the Best New Playwright Premio Max, Spain's foremost theatre awards. It has been translated in collaboration with William Gregory who has worked on productions for international projects at the Royal Court Theatre and The Gate.
