FRANKENSTEIN Comes to Popejoy Hall
Mary Shelley published Frankenstein in 1818, when she was just 20 years old. Written 80 years prior to Bram Stoker's Dracula, Shelley's novel has long rivaled Dracula as the most epic and timeless monster tale ever created. Daughter of feminist philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft and noted journalist William Goodwin, Shelley's work transcends the mindset of the time by introducing concepts previously unheard of, and a compelling juxtaposition between monster and man.
