Wayne Mcknight is a Canadian-Norwegian dancer,actor, choreographer and director. He had his debut as an actor in Canada in 1966, came to Norway in 1968 as a dancer with the Norwegian National Ballet, from 1971 as soloist and choreographer. A freelancer since 1976, Norwegian National Television, National Theatre of Norway and was a founding member of Norsk Danseteater. His debut as a director in 1986 with The Fantasticks at Teater Ibsen. Mr. Mcknight was later mainly associated with Oslo New Theater as a director and choreographer mounting hugely successful productions of Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, Pal Joey and other classics and revivals. He also staged and choreographed many musicals,farces and comedies for regional theaters in Norway and Sweden as well as the Royal Opera in Stockholm,Sweden.In addition to several revues at the Chat Noir, Chateux Neuf and Edderkoppen theaters in Oslo, he has worked as a director/choreographer for NRK Norwegian National Television (winning the coveted Chaplin Prize for best television comedy for Norway at the Montreux Television Festival in 1986. He many comic narrative dance works for Norwegian National Ballet, Carte Blanche and Oslo Dance Ensemble throughout the 1980's and 90's
