Walter Russell III is a Harlem, NY native who originated the role of Young Michael Jackson in Broadway's MJ the Musical, and is currently playing Young Marlon. Walter debuted in the first black opera at The MET playing Char’es Baby in Terrence Blanchard’s historic Fire Shut Up In My Bones. Walter is a 2023 GRAMMY Award nominee for his work on the Original Cast Albums in MJ the Musical and Fire Shut Up In My Bones. Previously, Walter performed across the US and Canada as Young Simba in the national tour of Disney’s The Lion King and made his Broadway debut in the role in 2020. His other regional credits include Young Lola in Kinky Boots at the Hollywood Bowl directed by Jerry Mitchell.
