BIO

Walker Vreeland is an actor, voice over artist, producer and award-winning playwright and radio personality living in New York. A familiar voice to radio audiences on Long Island and Connecticut, he is best known for having hosted The Afternoon Show on 102.5 WBAZ-FM, and as the creator and host of the podcast Interview with the Artist. Walker is currently Senior Producer of the podcast In the Balance and the soon-to-be-released podcast “I Don’t Need an Acting Class” hosted by Academy Award winning producer and acting teacher Milton Justice. As a voice actor, Walker recently completed work on a new documentary series for FX Network, and the German series Beat on Amazon Prime. His hit autobiographical solo play FROM SHIP TO SHAPE was the recipient of two United Solo Awards and enjoyed a sold-out run Off-Broadway in 2017. Walker is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

The 2018 SaraSolo Festival, the fourth celebration of theatre and solo artists returns to Sarasota over two weekends, January 27 & 28 and February 3 & 4, 2018. This annual showcases an eclectic mix of 45-90 minute solo performances by 19 national and international artists featuring music, dance, cabaret, comedy, magic, poetry, performance art, stand-up, storytelling and visual art creation as well as biographical, autobiographical and poetic plays.
Michael Moore Among Artists Recognized At United Solo Festival Gala

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, concluded its eighth season with a Gala at Theatre Row in New York. Throughout its ten-week run, the festival offered 120 stage productions, representing six continents, performed mostly in English, but also in Bulgarian, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and in the category of physical theatre through body language. Nearly 60 shows sold out, and were presented several times due to popular demand. Fiona Show called United Solo 'the mecca of the solo shows in the world.' This past season, the festival presented productions created by new talents, as well as show business veterans, including Oscar winner Milton Justice and Emmy winner Bill Oberst Jr. This year's festival also offered Master Classes led by Pau Aran Gimeno, a performer at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch; James Lecesne, an actor, activist, author of the screenplay for an Oscar-winning film; and Austin Pendleton, a renowned actor and director, and a recipient of the Drama Desk Special Award.
