AIPAD Talks Announced at The Photography Show
The Photography Show presented by AIPAD has announced a series of six AIPAD Talks with leaders in the photography world to be held in person during the run of the show. The Photography Show will be held March 31 through April 2 with a VIP Preview on March 30 at Center415 on Fifth Avenue between 37th and 38th Streets.
Photoville 2015 Interactive Programming Announced
United Photo Industries is pleased to announce the interactive programming for the fourth annual Photoville, which will take place at Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 5 uplands, September 10-20. Programming will include the return of the Luminance Professional Development Conference, a full-day conference showcasing insights and resources for building a career in photography; walking tours of the exhibitions hosted by photography professionals, including Julie Grahame, James Wellford and W.M. Hunt; a photo swap offering a chance to show, share, and trade work with other photographers; safety workshops for photographers covering war and political strife; how to take the perfect family photo; and more. Through a series of ambitious public photographic art installations, the enterprising Brooklyn-based cooperative United Photo Industries works to champion new directions in photography and cultivate ties within an ever-expanding, globe-trotting community of photographers. In partnership with Photo District News (PDN), Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Flash Forward Festival, United Photo Industries is pleased to announce the 2013 edition of one of its signature initiatives, THE FENCE, the 1,000 foot-long outdoor photographic installation whose inaugural edition drew over one million visitors during its 10-week run at Brooklyn Bridge Park last year.

Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation Announces A NEW DOCUMENTARY Exhibition in Arles; Entry Deadline Extended thru 4/30
Following the launch of a new grant in documentary film, The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation for Documentary Photography & Film announced today their first photography exhibition to take place during the world's biggest festival Les Rencontres d'Arles at Galerie Huit in Arles, France, and later in the year at Ikono gallery in Brussels, Belgium. With these new opportunities, the foundation has extended the 2013 call for documentary photography entries deadline through April 30 and has named a world renowned jury for selection of this year's grant recipient.
