August Strindberg Repertory Theatre to Present PARIAH, THE STRONGER, and ABU CASEM'S SLIPPERS in Alternating Rep
August Strindberg Repertory Theatre, under the leadership of Robert Greer, is committed to production of his plays in new translations and interpretations that illuminate the plays of Sweden's national playwright, whose work remains as relevant today as when they were written. The company continues its explorations November 12 to December 3 at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, presenting a double-bill of two-character plays -- 'Pariah' and 'The Stronger' -- in alternating rep with with Strindberg's Arabian Nights play, 'Abu Casem's Slippers.'

Actress and filmmaker Rita Gam passed away earlier this month from respiratory failure. She was 88 years old.
Gam was born Rita MacKay in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Belle (Fately), who was born in Romania, and Milton A. MacKay, who was born in Alsace-Lorraine, to parents from Romania. She took on the surname of her stepfather, Russian-born Benjamin Gam. Gam was raised in New York City.

August Strindberg Repertory Theatre Presents CASPER'S FAT TUESDAY, 10/26-11/17
From October 26 to November 17, August Strindberg Repertory Theatre will present an innovative double-bill of Strindberg's plays, 'Casper's Fat Tuesday,' translated by Jonathan Howard, and 'The Stronger,' translated by Robert Greer. The evening is a 'sweet and sour' pairing of one undiscovered play and a novel adaptation of a more familiar one. Both translations are world premieres. The plays will be directed by Robert Greer, produced by the Strindberg Rep and the Pink Pig Ballet in association with Theater Resources Unlimited, and performed at Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street (East Village).

Pacific Stages will follow up their debut production of Lobby Hero with the world premiere of Something Happened, by award-winning playwright L. Trey Wilson. Something Happened runs April 1 through May 16 at Pacific Stages in El Segundo and will be directed by L. Trey Wilson. The press opening begins April 8 and there will be an opening reception Saturday, April 10.
Matthew Arkin, Steve Rattazzi and Danton Stone to Star in Men of Clay
The Theatre Outlet presents the world-premiere of MEN OF CLAY, a comedy written and directed by Jeff Cohen (founder of the award-winning Worth Street Theater Company). Matthew Arkin and Obie Award winner Steve Ratazzzi join the previously announced Danton Stone in a cast that also includes Daniel Ahearn, Victor Barbella and Gabrielle Maisels.
