FOR ALL MY GIRLS: A Musical Celebrating the 'Everyday Diva', Featuring R&B Singer Monifah, Changes Venue
Today, Tmapp, in association with CBO Entertainment, announced that the Equity Showcase production of FOR ALL MY GIRLS: A Musical Celebrating the 'Everyday Diva,' has changed venues. Beginning Friday, December 9, 2016, the musical will play MIST Harlem (www.mistharlem.com), uptown's premiere live performance and special event venue through December 20, 2016.
Amas Musical Theatre to Offer Additional Staged Readings of GOTTA GETTA GIRL and A TASTE OF CHOCOLATE
Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present additional staged readings next month of two musicals in development for upcoming full productions. First up will be Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell, directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell. The readings will be held on Monday, November 2 @ 6pm and Tuesday November 3 @ 3pm & 7pm, at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46thStreet, 8th Floor - between Broadway & 6th Avenue).

ACAPPELLA, a musical about finding your own voice, conceived by Greg Cooper, with book by Vynnie Meli, music and lyrics by The Acappella Company, direction by Lee Summers and musical direction and arrangements by Evan Feist as an Invited Selection of the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival. New Musical ACAPPELLA to Play NYMF
The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Grep Cooper Productions, LLC LLC have announced that Virginia Woodruff (Violet, Leap of Faith, The Color Purple, All Shook Up, Smokey Joe's Cafe), Cheryl A. Freeman (The Who's Tommy , Disney's Hercules), Tyler Hardwick , Anthony Chatmon II , Miche Braden and Darilyn Castillo have joined the cast of ACAPPELLA. Rounding out the company are Katrina R. Dideriksen, Gavyn Pickens, Emily Goglia, Rachel Gavaletz, Janelle McDermoth, Darryl Williams, Alex Koceja and Garrett Turner.
AMAS to Offer Staged Readings of New Musical A TASTE OF CHOCOLATE, 1/26-27
Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will begin the New Year with staged readings for the New York premiere of A Taste of Chocolate, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Timothy Ware, with additional lyrics and arrangements by Alvin Hough. Directed by Warren Adams, the readings will be held on Monday, January 26th at 2pm & 6pm and Tuesday, January 27th at 2pm at The National Opera Center of America: Audition Recital Hall (330 Seventh Avenue - between 28th & 29thStreets). Actors' Equity Association ('AEA' or Equity) and its Eastern Region Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, together with First Corinthian Baptist Church and Executive Producer and Artistic Producer Project1Voice present 'FOUR LITTLE GIRLS: BIRMINGHAM 1963,' a one night only staged reading event to be held on Monday, February 3rd at 7:30pm at First Corinthian Baptist Church (1912 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., between West 115th & 116th Streets, Harlem NYC). This Black History Month event is free and open to the public (doors open at 6:45pm; ticketing and entry will be handled on-site, day of show, on a first-come, first-served basis) and will be sign-language-interpreted for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing. A panel discussion will take place immediately following the reading.
