BIO

Virginia Bartholomew is a Manhattan based actor, director and teaching artist. Her career ranges from indie film and gritty black box to the classical stage and improv comedy. In 2011 she was named a Best Actress in a Leading Role nominee for her work as Lady Macbeth with The Redd Tale Theatre Compnay and her one-woman adaptation of 'Frankenstein with Mary Shelley' recently ran four weeks in Midtown. She's very proud to have been a part of the very important LOGO feature film 'Teens Like Phil' as concerned Ms. Wellington. Virginia is currently teaching Shakespeare to persons with early Alzheimer's and coaching public speaking with lessons from the classical stage. Favorite directing credits include Zimmerman's Metamorphoses and Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, concluded its third annual season with a closing ceremony held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street in New York City. 2011 NY Innovative Theatre Awards Honor Robert Patrick et al.' Winners Announced!

On Monday September 19, 2011, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host comedian Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2011 recipients at the Seventh Annual IT Awards Ceremony at Cooper Union. This year's nominees represent 169 individual artists, 55 productions and 45 theatre companies. In 2011, the IT Awards had the most individual nominees than in any previous season with 169 nominees.
