Vincent Guastaferro, an established character actor in LA for over 30 years graduated from The Goodman School of Drama in Chicago with an MFA in Acting. He worked in Chicago during its theater explosion in the late 70's and moved to LA in 1980. His extensive credits range from Broadway to waiver, indie films to major studio releases, TV series regulars, recurring roles, and dozens of guest spots. Vinny was Sgt. Agostini in the first 4 seasons on NYPD Blue. He has shared the big screen with stars ranging from the “honorables” such as Don Ameche and Jackie Gleason to today’s leading actors like Philip Seymour Hoffman, Adrian Brody, and Sean Penn. Vinny has a longstanding friendship with author/writer David Mamet, and has appeared in six of his films and has performed his stage works in regional theaters. Among film directors Vinny has worked for are Barry Levinson, Woody Allen, and Michael Mann, and Garry Marshall to name a few. He’s done several TV movies; most noted is Nitti, in which Vinny co-starred as Al Capone. Vinny remains active on stage, having done shows at the Kirk Douglas in L.A., the Atlantic Theater in NYC, Center Stage in Baltimore, and at A.R.T. in Cambridge. In 1997-98, he performed on Broadway as ‘Joey’ in David Mamet’s autobiographical drama The Old Neighborhood for nine months along with Patti LuPone. Notable film includes State and Main, Sweet and Lowdown, Liberty Heights and recent TV includes Criminal Minds, Castle, and Touch. He is married to actor Cynthia Kania and they have two sons, Luca and Roman.
