Samantha Shay's MOTHER MELANCHOLIA Will Have On-Demand Screenings to Benefit Ukraine
From May 9-15, Samantha Shay’s short film Mother Melancholia will be available for on-demand viewing via pay what you can, and all funds raised will go towards aiding the Ukrainian people. The film is a multi-layered portrait of four women set to a soundtrack for the end of the world. As part of the Under Construction Festival and in partnership with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, this special digital programming event will be available at bit.ly/MotherMelancholia.

Source Material's IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES will world premiere via Zoom July 25, 2020 at 4pm PST. Directed by Source Material's artistic director Samantha Shay, IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES posits the state of theatre in these COVID-19 times using a mash-up of Chekov monologues, drinking duels and coronavirus memes. Performers, spread out in the U. S. and in Iceland, include company members James Cowan, Miles Hartfelder, Annelise Lawson, Stephanie Regina, Raven Scott, Victoria Sendra, and Grace Tiso. I had the chance to ask Samantha what's currently predominating in her creative mind.
NETWORK Will Host Post-Show Talkback March 20
Network will host a post-show talk back on Wednesday, March 20 following the 7pm performance in partnership with American Express. Participants include NETWORK stars Bryan Cranston (All The Way, "Breaking Bad"), Tony Goldwyn ("Scandal," Promises, Promises) and Tatiana Maslany ("Orphan Black," Mary Page Marlowe). New York Times culture reporter and author of Mad as Hell: The Making of 'Network' and the Fateful Vision of the Angriest Man in Movies Dave Itzkoff will moderate.
