The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents Brain, a hilarious and heartbreaking monologue about the mind, mental illness, and friendship on November 17 at 7:30pm in the Telus Studio Theatre as part of the Beyond Words series. Written and performed by novelist and slam poet Brendan McLeod, this 2015 Vancouver Fringe Festival Pick of the Fringe has been hailed as "soulful, heartfelt theatre that is moving and challenging, skillfully crafted and entertaining." COME INSIDE - Portland Gets Naughty
Portland Theater luminary Mary Macdonald-Lewis adds a saucy soupcon of Victorian sexual rebellion to Portland's first-ever festival of sapiosexual storytelling and titillating theatricality. Her staged reading, The Age of Arousal, joins a heady line up of sex-positive performance ranging from genderqueer exploration to dungeon mistress confessions, all part of Come Inside: A Sex & Culture Theatre Festival curated by Dance Naked Productions.
2nd Show Added for Smoker at the United Solo Festival
A second show has been added to Award winning monologist Bob Brader's new solo show, Smoker after the first performance sold-out. Tickets are now available for the added performance on Tuesday, November 17th at 9:00 pm. Smoker will have its World Premiere at the 6th Annual United Solo Festival on October 16th. The show is from the award-winning creative team, Bob Brader (writer/performer) and Suzanne Bachner (director/developer) whose previous work includes Bob Brader's shows Preparation Hex and the multi award winning Spitting In The Face Of The Devil. Both productions toured the U.S. and Canada to massive critical acclaim and Spitting In The Face Of The Devil is a 6-Time Best of Fest Award-Winner. The show is being produced by John Montgomery Theatre Company which is also producing The Good Adoptee which will also premiere at the United Solo Festival.

Enter Mr. Darcy, and one of literature's most iconic and tempestuous romances takes flight. Journey through a world quite unlike-and yet perhaps not so different from-our own, as Lizzy and Darcy learn that first impressions aren't all they seem, and that second chances can lead to answers that have been there the entire time.
