Veronica Gutierrez

Veronica Gutierrez is a model and actress of Mexican origin born in the Windy City. At an early age, Veronica knew performing was her path as she imitated Gloria Trevi and dreamed of participating in telenovelas. Her interest in the arts sparked at a young age after attending a modeling training program. She formed part of her high school plays and musicals, such as Little Shop of Horrors and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. Most recently, she gave life to Jenny Ramos in Los Secretos de Santa Mónica - La Boda. Previously, she toured with the same production in California and Arizona.

Her training initiated with the Gately Poole Conservatory where she was intensely trained in the Meisner technique. She has also ventured into other techniques such as Method. She attended an intensive at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City, coached by Lola Cohen and Mauricio Bustamante. Recently, she also studied the No Acting Please technique, that has made its way to Chicago from the West Coast. She manages to stay on her acting toes through continuous training, such as her recent class with Kurt Naebig.

Gutierrez has also made appearances in student and independent films. She played Jessica in Alma, which premiered in the 2016 Chicago Latino Film Festival, has been screened in various film festivals across the U.S. and was awarded a Silver Palm in the Mexico International Film Festival. Genesis is Gutierrez’s most recent short in which she plays the lead role of the same name.

Gutierrez has also journeyed into the voiceover world. So you might also catch her voice in various television and radio commercials for Kmart or Big Lots. When not on-camera, onstage, or on Netflix, Gutierrez engages in physical training such as boxing and dance. She loves creating smoothie bowl concoctions, spending time with her family and rat terrier Finito. Through her continuous focus and dedication, she hopes to soon work alongside Alfonso Herrera and Kate Del Castillo.
