The Media Theatre's annual benefit March 10, postponed a week due to snow, offered a welcoming atmosphere, pleasant company, and familiar songs performed by Broadway entertainers. This was very fitting, since the event title was "There's No Place Like Home", and home is where the heart is.

Veronica Garrubbo, 13, of Berwyn, is one happy singer. She won the 2016 'Vocalist Junior' contest, which is The Media Theatre's annual singing competition for ages 7-13. The past three years have seen the title go to 13 year old vocalists.

Winner of Media Theatre's 'Vocalist Junior' Contest Revealed!
His final song was 'Who I'd Be' from Broadway's Shrek: The Musical. It capped a winning five-week stage adventure for West Chester's 13 year old JD Triolo who won The Media Theatre's 2015 'Vocalist Junior' contest. Walking away with a $500 cash prize and a gift certificate for the theatre, JD beamed as he hugged the runner-up (Cassidy Else, 10, of Drexel Hill).

Week two of the 'Vocalist Jr' contest at The Media Theatre raised the bar a bit from the first week. There were less nerves and anxieties which allowed each performer to relax a bit and simply have fun on stage as they brought their all to each performance.

Disney's 'Aladdin Jr', the one hour youth version of the hit Broadway musical, delights audiences each weekend now through August at The Media Theatre. Saturday performances are at 11am with Sunday shows at Noon.

The Media Theatre will transport young audiences to prehistoric times when it presents the new stage adaptation of 'Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark' weekends in March, April, and May as part of the award-winning Children's Series. The family-friendly musical for ages 4 and up follows the adventures of a brother and sister who discover a magical tree house that whisks them away to the land of dinosaurs.
